Site manager wins award for Northampton development

A site manager working for David Wilson Homes South Midlands has won the Seal of Excellence award in the National Housebuilding Council Pride in the Job Awards.

Craig Gilbert received the accolade for the standards he set at the Tavener Fields development in Duston, Northampton.

Mr Gilber had already beaten 13,000 site managers to win one of the competition’s 450 quality awards and has now gone on to be among 130 site managers in the country to receive the excellence title.

Mark Penn, construction director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands said; “We are hugely proud of Craig for leading his team to success in the annual NHBC awards.

“This confirms that we are building some of the highest quality homes, not just in the East Midlands, but throughout the UK too.”

Mr Gilbert, who has worked as a David Wilson Homes site manager at Tavener Fields for five years. said: “It’s a great feeling knowing you’re amongst the top 130 site managers in the country and I’m thrilled to have won my first Seal of Excellence.

“I couldn’t have done it without my great colleagues, and I’m very proud of them all - this award is for them as much as it is for me and it’s an absolute honour to receive it.”

The Pride in the Job awards are the most coveted in the industry. Now in its 32nd year, it is the only national competition that focuses on the site manager’s role in producing high quality new homes.
