Shopkeeper attacked with golf club by gang during cigarette raid at Co-op

A man was attacked with a golf club during a robbery in Northampton on Sunday night.

The 22-year-old was working in the Co-op in Oulton Rise, Northampton, when three men entered the shop at about 10.30pm and hit him on the arm with the golf club, before stealing a large quantity of cigarettes.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “The victim was not seriously injured in the incident but was left with bruising as a result of the assault.”

The attackers were all white and drove a blue BMW estate.

They used a large industrial bag to take the cigarettes away.
