Shop owners threatened with baseball bat during armed robbery in Northamptonshire village

Several hundred pounds worth of cigarettes were stolen in an armed robbery at Glebe Stores and Post Office in Warmington, near Oundle, in the early hours of Friday (November 6).

The robbery happened at the shop in Hautboy Lane, at about 3.45am.

The offender/s broke in through the front door, threatened the owners with a weapon, possibly a baseball bat, and stole cigarettes.

They left the shop and made their escape in a vehicle.

One of the offenders is described as a white man, 5ft 7in to 5ft 8in, with a stocky build.

He wore a black zipped top, black tracksuit bottoms and a black balaclava.

He spoke English with no obvious accent and it is believed he was carrying a baseball bat.

Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area around the time of the robbery or saw a car driving away is asked to contact police.
