Severe warnings for snow and ice remain issued for Northamptonshire as temperatures continue to dip

The Met Office has issued several further severe weather warnings for Northamptonshire spreading across the next few days.

Northampton residents woke up to a blanket of snow this morning, as flakes began to fall yesterday evening.

A severe weather warning for snow and ice, issued by the Met Office, will be in place for Northamptonshire from 6pm this evening (Tuesday) until 11am tomorrow morning (Wednesday).

The Met Office warns that there could be further snow showers and is warning that people should take care on the roads due to ice.

There is a further weather warning in place for snow and ice from 12.05am until 11.55pm on Thursday.

Temperatures are expected to fall to minus one degree overnight.
