Wonderful and helpful staff in Northampton town centre have won the Chronicle & Echo's 'Super Servers' commendation, as voted for by readers.

In a previous printed edition of the Northampton Chronicle & Echo we asked our readers to cut out and send us the name of a service team or individual who often go out of their way to make shoppers or diners feel welcome.

Overall there were nine winners including Bewiched Coffee barista Gianni Fasano, staff at Lush, All Saints Bistro manager Teresa McDowell, Status hair salon owner Julie Dimmock, the team at Tesco Express in Kingsley Park Terrace, staff at Poundland in Abington Street, Marks and Spencer cafe workers, Millie at Georges cafe and the team at Rendezvous Coffee Shop.

Gianni Fasano has worked at Bewiched Coffee for over a year and helps to make the independent coffee shop an inviting place for those to enjoy a cup of coffee.

Julie Dimmock has owned her salon, Status, in Wellington Street for 31 years. His nominator voted for Gianni "because he has good manners and always time to talk."

Gianni said: "I'm very surprised about it. I did not expect it, I'm very very happy. I enjoy being in contact with people - I enjoy making a good cup of coffee for them."

Manager at Lush in the Grosvenor Centre Emma Mileham has been managing her team for over two-and-half-years and was more than pleased to be recognised for going the extra mile.

Staff at the handmade cosmetics store were nominated for being "friendly, animal lovers and helpful."

Emma said: "I was so happy, I think it's great. We try and deliver five star customer experience here. It's a great validation of what the guys do.

"I love working for Lush . It's good for my well being, it's good for my skin. We have a group of individuals here - it's very family-based."

All Saints Bistro manager Teresa McDowell was given a nod for "going out of her way to look after all of her customers and the homeless community."

She said:" I was shocked, I got goosebumps. I know people come back because of the service we give - with me it's just natural.

"I like people - I'm really a people person. Here I have been able to have a one to one with my customers. If you give them a great experience they come back."
