The theatre is looking for a girl who is 16 or over and does not have conflicting school or college commitments to perform in this popular children’s show at Royal & Derngate from July 12 to 16. The character, Diane, is meant to be 11 or 12 years old so ideally it needs someone who looks as young as possible.

The character has a small solo disco type dance in the middle of the show and is part of the finale. It is a great fun role and would be good experience for an up-and-coming dancer to put on their CV.

No rehearsals are needed in advance with the cast as the chosen candidate will be required to learn the dance in their own time from a video. The dancer will need to be able to commit to all performances. On Tuesday July 12, there is one performance at 7pm, on Wednesday there are shows at 10.30am and 1.30pm, on Thursday at 1.30pm and 7pm, on Friday 10.30am and 7pm, and 2.30pm and 7pm on the Saturday.

Anyone interested in applying should email a headshot, CV (including age and height) and a short video of a disco routine showing their ability (no longer than three minutes) to [email protected] by Friday June 10.

The popular children’s book Gangsta Granny has been brought to the stage by the producers of Horrible Histories and is a must-see for all families.

It is both laugh-out-loud funny with some brilliant comic scenes but also has some very moving and truthful things to say about family relationships.
