Royal & Derngate in Northampton is looking for members of the community to star in a new production due out this autumn.
Auditions to perform alongside a professional cast in the classic thriller, Gaslight, in the Royal take place on Wednesday August 19.
A powerful psychological drama, Patrick Hamilton’s classic mystery thriller was adapted into an iconic film starring Ingrid Bergman. This production is directed by Lucy Bailey, whose startlingly original stagings of Baby Doll, The Postman Always Rings Twice, Don’t Look Now and Dial M For Murder have redefined the art of the theatrical thriller. Tara Fitzgerald will be playing the part of Bella.
The theatre is looking for two men, aged 20 to 40, with a strong build, to play policemen in the final scene of the play and one woman, over 60, to play the ghost of an old lady. These are non-speaking parts.
The auditions will take place at the theatre on Wednesday August 19 between 4pm and 8pm. To register and get a timed 15-minute slot, download a registration form from the theatre’s website www.royalandderngate.co.uk (on Gaslight’s page in the What’s On section) or pick up a form at the theatre’s Box Office. The registration deadline is Monday August 10 and audition places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. For more information contact John Manning on 01604 655784 or email email@example.com.
Performances are at 7.45pm from Friday October 17 to Saturday November 7 (excluding Sundays), with matinees at 2.30pm on Thursdays and Saturdays. Details of rehearsals and performance times will be provided to those auditioning.
