Robbers punch man in face and steal his phone during mugging in Northampton

A man was punched in the face during a robbery in Northampton in the early hours of the morning.

The 20-year-old was walking along Lorne Road, towards Bailiff Street, on Saturday, December 6, when he was approached by two men walking in the opposite direction at some point between 1am and 1.20am.

The men approached the victim and demanded he hand over his mobile phone, which he refused to do. One of the offenders then assaulted the victim, punching him to the face, before grabbing his phone and both offenders making off.

The first offender was about 20-years-old, of mixed race and about 6ft, of stocky build with short black afro hair and was wearing a red tee-shirt and jeans.

The second offender was white, also about 20-years-old and 6ft, of thin build and with short, fair hair. He was wearing a blue tee-shirt and jeans. He was also wearing a wrist cast on one of his wrists.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information regarding it.
