Residents in Northamptonshire go to the polls for county council by-election

People living in Brixworth, Braunston, Crick and surrounding areas will go to the polls early next month to elect two Northamptonshire County Councillors.

By-elections will be taking place for the Braunston and Crick Division and Brixworth Division of Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) on Thursday, July 3. The by-elections follow the recent resignations of county councillors Steven Slatter and Catherine Boardman.

Residents living within the two electoral divisions will shortly receive a polling card with location details for their local polling station, which will be open on election day from 7am to 10pm on July 3.

The deadline for registering to vote in the NCC by-elections is midnight on Tuesday, June 17. This can be done online at

The deadline for postal vote applications is 5pm on Wednesday, 18 June 2014 and the deadline to arrange a vote by proxy (someone appointed to vote on your behalf) is midnight on Wednesday, June 25.

NCC’s Braunston and Crick and Brixworth electoral divisions cover the following areas of Daventry District:

Braunston and Crick Division: Braunston, Crick, Ashby Fields and Middlemore areas of Daventry, Kilsby, Ashby St Ledgers, Barby and Onley, Clay Coton, Lilbourne, Stanford, Welton, Yelvertoft

Brixworth Division: Arthingworth, Brixworth, Clipston, Cold Ashby, Cottesbrooke, Creaton, Draughton, East Farndon, Elkington, Haselbech, Kelmarsh, Lamport, Maidwell, Marston Trussell, Naseby, Great Oxendon, Scaldwell, Sibbertoft, Sulby, Thornby, Welford and Winwick.
