Rail passengers in Northampton hoping to travel to or from London Euston are facing long delays this afternoon after a person was struck by a train in Hemel Hempstead.

London Midland announced shortly after 1pm that all lines to and from London Euston were blocked. Coaches were ordered to connect passengers between Northampton and London Euston.

A spokesman said Northampton passengers would also be able to have their tickets accepted to use East Midlands train services from Wellingborough.

All rail lines were reopened by 3pm.
