Radio DJ Jo Whiley joins in celebrations for Queen's birthday at Northamptonshire school

Radio 2 DJ Jo Whiley was guest of honour at a Northamptonshire school for celebrations to mark the Queen's 90th birthday.

The birthday tea party on Thursday, organised by the Friends of Brington School, included cream teas, music and singing.

A spokeswoman for the school said: “All the schoolchildren painted a portrait of the Queen. Jo Whiley was one of the Judges who chose a winner from each year group,the winning portraits will be sent to the Queen.

“It was a fantastic celebration for the Queen’s 90th birthday and thank you to everyone who came and supported this event,” she added.

The next event by the Friends is a May fete on Saturday May 7 from 11am to 2pm. There will be games, Maypole dancing, stalls, bouncy castle and a raffle.
