One of the oldest pubs in the Northamptonshire is to relaunch after a refurbishment.
The Old Cherry Tree, in Cherry Tree Lane, Great Houghton, was built in the 15th century and was taken over by Yardley Inns in May.
The past few weeks has seen a huge amount of renovation behind the scenes, particularly in the kitchen, which has had a new combi oven and other equipment totalling £100,000.
Josh Baxter, director of Yardley Inns, said: “Customers won’t necessarily see much of the kitchen, but it will massively improve what’s on their plate.
“Our main thing is fresh-cooked meals that aren’t too fancy dan and people will really notice a difference.”
Yardley Inns also runs The Red Lion in Denton and put considerable investment in there too.
He said: “The pub was a bit dark so we’ve put in things like new carpets and tried to make it fresher and lighter.”
The relaunch will be on Friday August 19 with an event for local businesses the night before.
