Pub in Northampton evacuated after wooden beam catches fire

A pub in Northampton was evacuated after a wooden beam above a log burner caught fire.

Three fire crews were called out to the Thomas A Becket pub in St James Road shortly after 7pm tonight (Sunday).

A spokesman for the fire service said the fire involved a wooden beam near to a log burner.

The spokesman could not say how much damage the fire had caused but said the crews were due to leave the scene in the next hour.
