A plea hearing for two Northampton men accused of murdering a man during a violent attack in the town, has been set for July this year.
Vladlens Ignashko, aged 39, and Igors Kolkunovs, aged 27, appeared in Northampton Crown Court today via a video link, while in custody in Leicester, charged with the murder of Olegs Sergejevs and the attempted murder of a second man.
Grace Wai Yi Hale, prosecuting, said: “It is alleged the two defendants were responsible for the death of the deceased by stabbing and kicking to the head, causing trauma.”
The incident took place in Cliftonville Court on Thursday.
Mr Sergejevs, aged 38, was taken to University Hospital Coventry where he later died.
It is believed the defendants, from Cliftonville Court, were known to the victims.
A plea and case management hearing will take place at the beginning of July this year and a provisional 10-day trial date has been set for January 2016.
