The Post Office is proposing to move Limehurst Square Post Office from its current location to create a modern open-plan branch with longer opening hours.

The proposed new location for the branch is Bargain Booze, 11 Limehurst Square, Northampton, NN5 6LP, approximately 50 metres from its current

site at Limehurst Road, Northampton. The move would be with the current Subpostmaster’s agreement.

Should the move go ahead, the branch would open Monday to Thursday: 7am to 9pm Friday and Saturday; 7am to 10pm; Sunday: 8am to 9pm. This would be

an extra 49.5 hours a week including all day Sunday and Saturday afternoons.

There would also be no more lunchtime closing and the branch would open significantly earlier and close much later every day.

The proposed move is part of major modernisation programme across the Post Office network designed to make it easier for customers to do business.

Will Russell, a Post Office regional network manager, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Limehurst

Square and we are confident this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.

“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”

Nationwide the investment programme will see up to 8,000 branches modernised with additional investment in over 3,000 community and outreach branches.
