Production stopped at Northampton's Carlsberg brewery today after fatal ammonia leak
Production has stopped at Carlsberg and a report has been prepared for the coroner after a worker died following a gas leak at the Northampton brewery yesterday.
Northamptonshire Police says a "multi-agency" investigation is continuing after the ammonia leak claimed the life of a man in his 40s and left a 51-year-old man in a critical condition.
This morning the force says a report has been prepared for the coroner, though a formal identification and a post-mortem of the worker are yet to take place.
The factory remains cordoned off and officers are currently at the scene.
A police spokeswoman said: "The emergency services do not believe there to be any danger to the wider public."
A joint Police and Health and Safety Executive investigation is likely to continue over the coming weeks.
