A six-year-old poodle missing in Northampton has been spotted at last after a week of frantic searches by local residents.
Faith, a brown ‘toy poodle’, first went missing when she ran off in Foxfield Country Park, Grange Park on May 24 after being scared by a larger dog.
After a week with no sightings she was finally spotted yesterday morning not far from the same point.
Faith’s desperate owner Belinda Collis Hill, of High Street, Roade, said: “I went out yesterday with somebody else to look for her, we spotted her in the distance, she was still wearing her lead.
“I called out but she just went, she’s so timid. I camped out there all night, I just want to find her.”
The search for Faith has united local residents with many handing out posters and flyers and joining Mrs Collis Hill on searches late into the night.
A Facebook page set up to help coordinate the search has already attracted 215 members.
A tracker dog was brought in last week to help narrow down the search area, after picking up the scent it went round in circles suggesting that Faith is still close by.
Willing to try anything, Mrs Collis Hill even contacted a psychic who said she believed Faith was in a house somewhere although the latest sighting has cast doubt on that suggestion.
Thanking supporters for their efforts so far, Mrs Collis Hill said: ”Everybody is doing everything they can, I don’t know how I’d have got through it without them, they are really amazing people.”
