In a message sent out to staff today Councillor Heather Smith said the county council’s role was to help deliver the best possible future for the people of Northamptonshire after Brexit.
She said: “It is critical that as community leaders and public servants we act in a professional and calming manner for the people we serve and to reduce any anxieties.

“Quite frankly the vast majority of what we do will remain unchanged in terms of the legislation in which we work.”
“Therefore it is truly ‘business as usual’ in protecting the vulnerable, safeguarding our communities and enhancing the wellbeing of the people of the county. We all have important work to get on with to make our great county even better.”
