The incident happened shortly after 8pm yesterday (Wednesday) at the One Stop Shop in Swinburne Road.

A police spokesman said: “One man was seen to enter the store and appeared to be looking around to see if there were any members of the public present.

“When the shop was empty, he called in two other men who were wearing hoodies with their faces covered.

“One man, holding a silver claw hammer and a black shopping bag, approached the staff member at the till and demanded she empty the money into the bag, while the other two men kept watch.

“The three offenders then left the store, with two of them running off towards Burns Road and the third running into Swinburne Road.

“Officers are keen to speak with any witnesses, in particular a woman who was walking with a small child and was refused entry to the shop due to the robbery.

“It is likely the two men with face coverings will have passed by her as they fled the scene.”

The offenders were all white, between 5ft 10 and 6ft and of slim builds.
