Police visit homeless in St Giles churchyard to cut down antisocial behaviour

Work is ongoing to crackdown on antisocial behaviour in a churchyard in Northampton town centre.

Officers from the Northampton Neighbourhood Police Team‏ have been out and about today (Friday) visiting homeless people camped out in St Giles churchyard, with members of the outreach team at Northampton Borough Council.

A tweet from @NptonPolice said: "PC769 Rogers was out in St Giles Church Yard in Northampton Town Centre earlier today with outreach @NorthamptonBC . They are working in partnership to cut down negative activities such as drinking, begging, littering and drug use. #p769 #CommunityEngagement #safernorthants"
