Police in Northamptonshire will be carrying out speed checks and monitoring the streets for the irresponsible behaviour of visitors and motorists on main routes to and from Santa Pod Raceway this weekend.

In partnership with police, Santa Pod staff will be placing signs around the villages of Wollaston, Irchester and the racetrack asking people to abide by the speed limits.

Motorists are also reminded that vehicles with registration plates that do not conform to legal standards should not be driven on public roads, and that show plates should only be placed on the vehicle once inside the racetrack grounds.

Santa Pod Raceway has asked that visitors to the Ultimate Street Car event consider the local community and is urging them to drive carefully through the surrounding villages, where speeding issues have been identified as a local priority in response to feedback received from residents.

The Ultimate Street Car festival, which takes place from Friday August 1 to Sunday August 3, is expected to draw many people, however, visitors identified as ignoring the road safety advice and signs will be refused entry to the grounds.
