Police seek man over theft of elderly woman's purse in a Northampton supermarket

A CCTV image has been released of a man police want to speak to after an elderly woman was followed around a Northampton store before having her purse taken.

The victim is believed to have been followed around the Aldi store in Wellingborough Road.

A purse was then said to have been removed from a bag hanging on the back of a shopping trolley.

A spokesman said: "Police have released CCTV images of a man they hope will be able to assist with their enquiries."

Police said today that the alleged offence took place on Tuesday, October 11 between 10.30am and 11.40am.
