Police seek BMX rider and one other man over Northampton Racecourse stabbings

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on the Racecourse, Kingsley, Northampton, on Friday July 25.

The assault happened between 7pm and 8pm, near the children’s play area on the Watkin Terrace side of the park.

The victims, a 19-year-old man and a 33-year-old man, were in the park when two other men ran towards them and attacked them.

Both victims received a number of stab wounds and made their way to the road, near to the Bat and Wickets pub, to call for help. The offenders ran off in the direction of Watkin Terrace.

The victims were taken to University Hospital Coventry where they were treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

One of the offenders is described as Eastern European, aged 23 to 34 years old, between 5ft and 5ft 3in, with a skinny build and short dark hair.

The second offender is described as Eastern European, aged in his late teens to early 20s, with a skinny build. He was wearing denim shorts and a T-shirt and had been riding a silver BMX bike just before the incident.

A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
