Police officers praise wellbeing event offering free health checks to Northampton residents

Police Community Engagement Officers attended a health and wellbeing day in Northampton, which offered town centre residents free health check-ups as well as family activities and beauty stalls.

DC Rachel Packman and PC Christian Buckenham attended the event at St Michael and All Angels Church in Perry Street off St Michael's Mount on Friday (March 24).

The event was arranged by the Zimwomen Association and brought together representatives from Northampton Partnership Homes, NHS and Voice, amongst others.

There were free health checks, advice about healthy living, family activities and various beauty stalls and refreshments.

Christian said: “The church hall was full of stalls for last Friday’s event which was very well attended with people getting advice and information.

"It proved very popular and I hope it will become a regular feature in the town’s calendar.”
