A Northamptonshire Police officer has pleaded not guilty to murdering his wife.
Detective Constable Adrian ‘Otis’ Goldsmith, aged 49, appeared at Northampton Crown Court via video link from HM Prison Peterborough today after he was charged with the murder of his wife Jill, aged 48, at their home address in Wootton Hall.
Goldsmith has been in custody since he was arrested on the day of the alleged murder on Thursday, March 26.
He spoke only to confirm his name and enter his plea.
The court heard the trial is likely to last for two to three weeks and has been scheduled to start on January 11 next year. The trial is likely to be held at Leicester or Stafford Crown Court.
