Police name man who died following car crash in Northamptonshire

Police have named a man who died following a car crash near Daventry on Saturday.

Jamie Collins, aged 34, of Apollo Close, Daventry, was involved in an accident on the A361 between Daventry and the Newnham crossroads, at about 11am.

He was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Mr Collins was the driver of a silver Volkswagen Golf, which collided with a red Volkswagen Transporter van on the A361, between the A45 and the junction with Badby Lane.

He was travelling south towards Badby, when he collided with the Transporter, driven by a 27-year-old man from Woodford Halse.

The passenger in the Golf, a 16-year-old girl, was also airlifted to hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.

The passenger in the VW Transporter, a 25-year-old woman, was also taken to hospital with suspected back and neck injuries.
