An elderly man inappropriately touched a young woman in Northampton after telling her she was “too young to be smoking”.

The man, who is believed to be in his 80s, got off a bus in St Matthew’s Parade at about 10.15am on Wednesday and approached the victim.

During the incident, which lasted about 10 minutes, the man touched and kissed her a number of times and she attempted to push the man away. He then walked off towards The Racecourse.

He is described as 5ft 2in with an olive complexion and an Italian accent. He had some teeth missing and was wearing a tweed hat and suit jacket along with dark grey trousers.
