Police hunting robber in Standens Barn

A teenager was robbed in Northampton by a man asking to borrow his mobile phone.

The robbery happened in Brickwell Court, Standens Barn, sometime between 1.30pm and 1.45pm on Monday, when the 19-year-old man was approached by a man who asked to borrow his mobile phone.

The victim refused to hand over his phone, at which point the offender became agressive and threatened him, demanding his wallet.

Fearing for his own safety the victim handed over £5 and the offender escaped.

He is described as black, with short black hair and was aged in his 20s, with a skinny build. He was about 6ft 4in and spoke with an African accent. He was wearing a blue jacket with a grey hood and grey jogging bottoms.
