Police hunt for man after girl, 16, is sexually assaulted on a bus in Northampton

A girl who was on a bus in Northampton was sexually assaulted by the man sitting next to her.

A 16-year-old girl was on the number 2 Stagecoach bus when a man sat next to her and started engaging in small talk with her.

The man then made suggestive comments to her before touching the outside of one of her legs.

The teenager became upset and other bus passengers went to her aid.

The incident happened on the bus between the White Elephant and Morrisons on the Kettering Road at about at about 4.25pm on Friday, January 23.

The offender was about 30-years-old, white, believed to be Polish and had short brown/blonde hair. He also had stubble and was wearing a black jacket and carrying a carrier bag.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, they would particularly like to speak to the bus passengers who went to the aid of the victim.
