Emergency services were called to a main road around Duston, Northampton this afternoon (Friday).

Officers were called to an incident in Duston, where the air ambulance also landed nearby.

New Sandy Lane was blocked off by police cars, close to Port Road.

A police spokesman said: “Northamptonshire Police attended an incident in New Sandy Lane near Duston at about 3.30pm today, Friday, after calls about the welfare of a woman in the area.

Paramedics also attended the scene and a woman has been airlifted to University Hospital Coventry with serious injuries.”

According to local reports, the road has since reopened although Northamptonshire Police are unable to confirm this at the time of publication.
