Plans for the future development of the University of Northampton’s Avenue Campus are to be displayed to the public next week.
The university is planning to move to a new £330 million site in the town centre in 2018 and will be relocating from both its Park and Avenue campuses.
As part of a ‘land swap’ deal, Taylor Wimpey is to build 800 houses on the site of Park Campus in return for giving the university land off Bedford Road for the new campus.
Plans have now been developed for the university’s Avenue Campus, in St George’s Avenue, near the Racecourse.
Members of the public will be able to view the latest plans for Avenue Campus, in Newton Grand Hall, Newton Building, Avenue Campus, St Georges Avenue, on Monday, March 16 from 5pm to 8pm and Tuesday, from midday to 3pm.
Professor Nick Petford, vice-chancellor of the University of Northampton said: “The Waterside campus is a hugely exciting development for the University and the town.
“We are making excellent progress with the new campus, scheduled to open in 2018. The relocation from our current campuses provides the opportunity for redevelopment of these.
“We hope members of the local community and other interested people will join us at these events to help shape our plans.”
