Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery, which took place in Ellfield Court, at around 9pm, and targeted a driver for take-away giants Pizza Hut.

A spokesman said: “A delivery driver was threatened and assaulted by three men, who then stole food from his delivery bag. The men are believed to have made off towards the underpass under Billing Brook Road.”

The offenders are described as white men in their 20s.

Two were described as “slim build” and the other was of a larger build and was wearing a grey jacket.

Their faces were partially covered.

Officers are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen three men in the area around the time of the incident.
