More teams than ever took part in the 12th annual Rotary Dragon Boat Festival at the weekend, raising an estimated £30,000 for charity.
Dragon Boat chairman Paul Simpson said 46 teams took part in the festival, which was held at Billing Aquadrome, a new venue for the event.
“It was a fantastic day. With a change of venue you are always a bit apprenhensive but it went really well and the teams enjoyed it,” he said.
“It made a much better spectacle for the crowd and gave great views across the marina.
“I think we took Billing Aquadrome by surprise at the size of the event!”
The eventual winners being a team from Hewlett & Sons.
Mr Simpson added: “I am hoping that we will have raised more than £30,000 for charity but it is now all down to the teams collecting their sponsorship money.”
The money will be split between the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and Rotary charities
Organisers are already looking to next year and entry forms will be going out in September. For more details, visit http://www.rotarydragons.org.uk/
