PICTURES: Hundreds line up for NorPIP charity bike ride around Silverstone

Hundreds of cyclists completed laps around Silverstone's F1 circuit to raise money for a charity working with families in Northamptonshire.

The ride, organised by the University of Northampton’s event management students, raised cash for the Northamptonshire Parent-Infant Partnership (NorPIP).

The track measures 3.66 miles and riders could complete as many laps as they liked until it got too dark to see.

A spokesman for the organisers said: “From everybody on the NorPIP Bike Ride 2016 team, we would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who came and supported the event.

“You’ve raised a fantastic amount of money for NorPIP, and we hope you had a great time doing it!”

Full details on the amount of money raised will be announced at a later date.
