Photographs taken from the back of the former St Edmund’s Hospital site in Northampton where a fire broke out yesterday have emerged.
Three fire crews from Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the old derelict hospital site in Wellingborough Road just after midday yesterday (Monday) where there was a fire on the second floor.
Smoke was seen pouring out the front of the building, while photos have emerged today of the flames taking hold at the back of the building from Portland Place.
The fire service closed an access road near the building for public safety.
The fire was under control by around 1.20pm.
Information about the cause of the fire has not been released by the fire and rescue service.
