PICTURES: Ales, ciders and gins enjoyed at Northampton County Beer Festival

Over 150 beers as well as locally produced ciders and gins were tried at the Northampton County Beer Festival at Delapre Abbey over the weekend.

The four-day event which took place from Thursday to Sunday attracted hundreds of ale enthusiasts who tried the drinks and food on offer as well enjoying as a variety of musical acts and a fairground.

A classic red double decker bus ferried people from the town centre to the event.

All 20 independent commercial brewers from Northamptonshire were represented at the event and the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) awarded the prizes.

There was also a joint venture between two iconic Northampton firms, Phipps and Gallone’s, which resulted in the debut of a new range of Phipps alcoholic ice cream and sorbet.
