The Steelbacks showed off their T20 Blast trophy to delighted fans in Northampton this afternoon.

Despite the rain, Alex Wakeley’s triumphant men attracted a crowd of cricket fans keen to see their heroes honoured in the traditional way.

After a slightly soggy open-top bus journey, the team were driven through the town centre and were met by a crowd and dignitaries outside the Guildhall.

And Wakeley showed his class by personally carrying the trophy round to adoring members of the public and handing it out for photos.

Later, the team attended a reception inside the Guildhall.
