Organisers of the Northampton Music Festival have said that this year’s event was an “outstanding success”, despite some bad weather.
Bands of all genres, including classical, jazz and metal, performed in key venues around the town centre. Some of the six stages were even set up in the streets, with audience members filling up seats laid out in the road.
Organiser Jo Burns-Russell said: “This year’s festival was an outstanding success, we had so many great acts play across all of our stages and it was incredible to see so many people out across the town centre enjoying local talent.
“So many people helped out and supported us, and we want to thank the amazing acts who got involved in making this such an amazing day.”
People who attended parts of the three-day event posted pictures and comments throughout the weekend.
Lynn Copper said: “It was amazing - a great time. I cannot wait for next year.”
Celia Sanchez said simply: “I love Northampton.”
The free event, which just celebrated its eighth year with 80 different acts this weekend, is organised by Northampton Music 365 with support from Northampton Borough Council and Northampton Town Centre BID.
