Photos of Northamptonshire trucks belonging to bygone firms for sale

A toy and automobile sale will feature photos of Northamptonshire vehicles that are sure to stir memories.

The sale will take place at The Mill, Great Bowden Road, Market Harborough on Tuesday September 13.

Among the lots will be fourteen albums of photographs and prints of vintage lorries and vans, approximately 1800 images.

They were collected by Peter Skinner as the working information for use in the books “On the Move Again A History of Transport in Northamptonshire by he and co-author Bernard Coker.

Many local company vehicles and their premises in county towns and villages are shown, some still trading and some long gone.

Some of the lorries shown belonged to Wrefords, Challis, Heygates N B Potter, E M Rogers, Crouch’s, fairground and circus vehicles to include sir Robert Fossetts, and many lesser known companies.
