Some of these points could have been forgotten about for as long as two years.
Tesco says a lot of the points, which are worth triple their value when used in partnership with one of the 150 reward partners, need to be redeemed by February 29.
Tesco chief customer officer, Alessandra Bellini, said: “Clubcard is our way of helping customers to get the very best value when shopping with us and we want to help them make the most of it.

“With a large number set to expire at the end of the month we are encouraging people to check the Clubcard app to see if any of these unused vouchers are theirs.”
The easiest way to check if you have Clubcard points that you have not redeemed is to download the app.
