Take a look inside new Northampton 'dirty burger' restaurant 7Bone on opening day
The restaurant has opened inside the former Mu Mu unit in St Giles Street
Bosses at 7Bone Burger Company have thrown open their doors at a new 'dirty burger-themed restaurant' today in Northampton with their own craft beer, Cosmic Bone Juice, on tap.
As seen on BBC 2’s The Restaurant Man, 7Bone first launched in 2013 with the goal to create an edgy burger joint in Southampton.
The Northampton location is the furthest north the brand has ventured so far and it will be the ninth restaurant belonging to owners, and best friends Richard Zammit and Matt Mollicone, who have other venues in Bournemouth, Hove and Reading.
The venue, featuring artwork of Eastenders character Ian Beale, sells mainly burgers and sandwiches made with smashed, dry-aged beef and free-range chicken. Chicken tenders and ‘juicy dogs’ are up for grabs, too.
But vegans and vegetarians, fear not. There are also meat-free options filled with halloumi as well as a new vegan menu, with a vegan patty recipe called ‘Daisy’s Revenge’ comparable to ‘Ronald’s Revenge’ on the main menu.
Michelle Wright of 7Bone said: “We are excited to open in Northampton and welcome customers to enjoy our food. We think we can bring something new to the market in Northampton and deliver delicious eats with our great quality comfort food menus.”
The restaurant operates on a walk-in only basis and can accomodate up to 65 people at the former Mu Mu site, which closed in August last year.
Aside from their own craft ale, three other craft beers will be on tap and regular meal deals are on offer, too.
After a five week renovation project the restaurant started serving food today (Monday) from 12 noon and their recruitment drive has seen the venue take on 25 new members of staff.
Popular choices on the menu, according to staff, include Prince Charles is Overrated (bacon, cheese, shredded iceberg, pickles and dirty spread), One Big Chicken (buttermilk fried chicken, two hash browns cheese, chipotle ketchup, hp sauce, mayo and shredded iceberg), Dirty Fries, Kung Fu Fries and Chicken Fried Halloumi.
