Route details for the Aviva Women's Tour cycle race across Northamptonshire released

Details of the Fifth Stage of the Aviva Women's Tour cycle race have been released showing the exact route the riders will take.

The event, on Sunday, 19 June, starts in Northampton at 10.45am and is expected to finish in Kettering at about 2pm.

The race begins in Northampton and heads along Towcester Road. After leaving Northampton the race will head through Milton Malsor, Gayton, Bugbrooke for a sprint section, Nether Heyford, Stowe IX Churches, Farthingstone, and Little Preston.

The riders will pass through Newnham and then climb Newnham Hill in the first of two hill sections.

They will speed down the hill and into Daventry, passing up London Road, New Street, Abbey Street and out to Norton.

Then it is on to Whilton Locks, the Bringtons, East Haddon, Ravensthorpe, Coton, Guilsborough, and Naseby for a second hill section.

The cyclists then go to Kelmarsh, Arthingworth, Braybrooke, Pipewell, Rothwell, Desborough – for a second sprint section, Harrington, Foxhall, Loddington and into Kettering along Gypsy Lane, Northampton Road, Sheep Street, and finishing in the Market Square.
