Northampton woman shares nostalgic pictures of Royal Wedding on William and Kate’s tenth anniversary

The budding photographer was even able to capture the infamous balcony kiss

On the tenth anniversary of a Royal Wedding that captured the heart of the nation, a Northampton woman has shared her nostalgic pictures and memories.

Yvonne McKeown, who now lives in Duston but was living in London in 2011, was in the crowds in Pall Mall as Prince William and Kate made their way to Buckingham Palace following their nuptials at Westminster Abbey on this day ten years ago (April 29, 2011).

The Royal fan and keen photographer was even able to capture the infamous balcony kiss as she found herself extremely close to the palace.

Yvonne said: "Being a budding photographer and just a short tube journey away from Buckingham Palace I wanted to go and witness the Royal Wedding as I knew it would be a significant historic event.

"It was a beautiful sunny day, and being in the crowds on The Mall there really was a sense of celebration and electricity in the air.

"It seemed that everyone had a picnic and champagne to enjoy, and everyone was so friendly - it felt like the biggest street party."

Below is a collection of Yvonne’s pictures from William and Kate’s big day.
