Pedestrian involved in lorry collision in Northamptonshire suffered 'serious head injuries'

A 42-year-old pedestrian 'received serious head injuries' last night when he was involved in a collision with a large goods vehicle in Northamptonshire.

The A43 between Syresham and Silverstone was closed last night (Tuesday) after a serious accident, which happened at around 8.20pm.

Highways England tweeted at 9.15pm that the northbound carriageway was shut while Northamptonshire Police dealt with the incident.

A Northamptonshire police spokeswoman said: “A pedestrian has suffered serious injuries when he was involved in a collision with a large goods vehicle on the A43 near Silverstone.

“The collision took place at about 8.20pm on the A43 northbound, just past the Green Man public house.

“The 42-year-old male pedestrian received serious head injuries. Witnesses are being sought by the police to help with enquiries.”
