A workforce will be replacing the worn lighting in Mayorhold Car Park with “longer lasting” LED lights throughout this month.

The works, which will take four weeks to complete, will begin on Monday, September 5 and will affect access to some car parking spaces during that time.

The council says the cost-saving improvements will be carried out “level by level,” to minimise disruption.

However it says that “up to half a level” will be blocked off from use each week day.

The road ways of each car parking level will remain open so visitors can still access all the floors of the car park during the work, which will not affect weekend parking.

Parking charges will still apply whilst the work takes place.
