Inadequate patient parking at Northampton General Hospital (NGH) is to be reviewed by the borough council.
The authority approved a motion by Councillor Sally Beardsworth (Lib Dem, Kingsthorpe) to begin talks with hospital bosses on ways of providing more spaces at the Cliftonville site.
Councillor Beardworth said ill patients were forced to walk long distances because the car park was often full or too expensive.
“It heaps a lot of distress and emotion on people,” she said. “As the local authority we should be working with the hospital to alleviate this.”
