Pair who allegedly shot and injured ducks with a catapult in Northampton caught on camera

'I have never heard noises like it' a dog walker said after claiming to witness two people firing catapults at ducks on a Northampton canal that left some 'severely injured.'

The woman, who does not wish to be named through fear of repercussions managed to take a photo of the two people she claims carried out the attacks on Sunday (March 6) aiming what appears to be a catapult at a target on the canal.

The woman was crossing a bridge over the Grand Union canal near Sixfields Lake, a mile away from Northampton lock, when she witnessed the alleged attack at around 2pm.

She said: “I was walking my dogs and I just heard this extreme behaviour from under the bridge the ducks were going completely crazy, they were squawking and flapping frantically. They were really distressed.

“As I walked over the bridge I could see a duck rolling around on the bank, it looked as if it had been severely injured.

“But then these two guys (sic) came out from underneath the bridge laughing.

“I shouted at them but they just kept laughing. Then as they headed off down the canal they carried on firing at the ducks. That’s when I took the photos.”
