Young people interested in film-making are being invited to visit a new youth workshop scheme in the Weston Favell Shopping Centre on Monday.

Reelscape Community is opening up The Movie Hub in a retail unit in the centre and members of the public can drop in between 11am and 5pm.

Volunteers will be on hand to talk about the youth workshop scheme and Northants feature film Fortune Cookies.

There are a few places left at The Movie Hub open to young people between 10 and 18 years old, who live or attend school in Blackthorn, Cherry Lodge, Goldings, Lings, Lumbertubs or Overstone Lodge in East Northampton.

To apply, email info@reelscape.org.uk or fill out an application form available at www.reelscape.org.uk

The Movie Hub is a free community workshop scheme funded by the Big Lottery Fund, Growing Together and the Ernest Cook Trust, run by not-for-profit Reelscape Community.

Young people will work with film professionals on the Pre-Production of feature film Fortune Cookies undertaking production and costume design, set building and camera tests.

The workshops will focus on building young people’s transferable life, literacy and work skills, developing confidence and employability.

The Movie Hub open day will take place in the retail unit opposite Nationwide, next to Burtons and near to the Centre Management Office on the Upper Mall of Weston Favell Shopping Centre, Wellingborough Road, Northampton, NN3 8JZ.
