“We are encouraging parents who think their child’s school might be affected to contact the school directly.

“On Tuesday, a list of local authority school closures, but not academies, will be available on our school closures webpage.”

Hawthorn Primary School in Kettering is to close a number of classes for the day.

The school’s Silver Birches and Willows classes will be closed all day, with the Pears class closed in the morning and open in the afternoon.

All other classes will be open all day. Children in the affected classes will not be accepted at school.

Bishop Stopford School in Kettering is not proposing to close to any year group and the school will be open as usual.

There will, however, be some disruptions to lessons.
