A chance meeting in a supermarket has led to a friendship between Caroline Chisholm School Sixth Form and the Wellingborough Branch of Guide Dogs. Caroline Skinner, owner of guide dog Wanda along with her husband Paul, and puppy walkers Pam and Richard Nash, have become regular visitors to the school, inspiring students to raise funds to sponsor a guide dog puppy.

The final fundraising event, a competition to name the puppy, raised more than the £1,500 target. The name will be selected from the three prize winning entries of Chisholm, Toffee and Echo.

Pupils presented the cheque to Paul and Caroline Skinner and Pam and Richard Nash.
